Warranty, Information and Maintenance
Warranty:
U.S. Skylights’ units are warrantied to the original purchaser for a period of five (5) years from the date of shipment against defects in materials or workmanship, provided that they are properly installed, without alteration to the original product. The liability under this warranty shall not exceed original purchase price of the unit, exclusive of freight and installation costs. This warranty is non-transferable and is valid only to the purchaser indicated on the billing invoice. U.S. Skylights reserves the right to visually inspect the product and to replace or repair the unit at its option. To make a claim, contact your supplier or U.S. Skylights with proof of purchase, together with picture(s), and a written statement of the defect encountered. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages to persons or property caused directly or indirectly by a U.S. Skylight product. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights that vary state to state.
Popping:
Due to the nature of plastic glazing material, you will sometimes experience popping noises as the sun heats up the domes or as the domes cool. This is due to the the plastic glazing expanding and contracting slightly at different rates. These noises will dissipate with time. This in no way affects the performance or quality of the unit.
Condensation:
Under certain conditions of low temperatures and high humidity is possible for condensation to occur on the metal and plastic surfaces. Double glazing will usually reduce the occurrence of condensation but will not totally eliminate it. Condensation will dissipate as the weather conditions change.
Cleaning:
When natural rain water is insufficient for cleaning, mild dish soap and water can be used for acrylic domes. Glass units can be cleaned with a glass cleaning product, however these will damage acrylic domes. Acrylic is susceptible to damage from alcohol, lacquer thinner, toluene and other cleaning chemicals. Use of these chemicals will void the warranty and may cause the material to crack.
